![]() ![]() More importantly, however, the curriculum is designed to foster student growth and to develop students’ abilities and motivation to become life-long mathematical thinkers and problem solvers. The CogAT seeks to measure abilities across systems that are most highly correlated with reasoning, problem-solving, and success in school. Our students will be taking the complete battery, including a Verbal, Quantitative, and Nonverbal Reasoning battery. Therefore, it adequately prepares our students for the New Jersey Statewide Assessment which begins in 3rd grade. MTSD will be administering an assessment known as the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). Montgomery’s K-4 math curriculum is aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Mathematics (NJSLS-M).
